The Sussex Disability Football League has been given a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds after being chosen as one of this year’s Broadwater Carnival beneficiaries.
Taking place on Saturday 18 July, the carnival will provide a brilliant platform for the league to share its work with the wider community while raising money to support inclusive football across Sussex.
On the day, league volunteers will be running a lively “Beat the Goalie” attraction for budding goal scorers, as well as a tombola packed with attractive prizes. Volunteers will be on hand from 10am to 4pm, welcoming visitors, encouraging participation, and helping to make the day a success.
The Broadwater Carnival will also feature many other attractions and a variety of refreshment stalls, making it a great day out for families, supporters, and the local community.
The Sussex Disability Football League is run by dedicated volunteers and provides playing opportunities for more than 400 players each season. The league is committed to offering the best possible football experience by using high-quality venues and qualified referees, while keeping costs as low as possible for players, families, and participating clubs.
Fundraising events such as the Broadwater Carnival are essential to the league’s future. Each season, around £15,000 needs to be raised simply to keep the league running, covering costs such as pitch hire, referees, and match day operations.
Every contribution made on the day will help protect the league’s future and ensure players can continue to enjoy football, build confidence, develop friendships, and be part of a supportive sporting community.
Supporters are encouraged to come along, join in the fun, and help make the most of this wonderful opportunity to celebrate and support inclusive football.
