Lions support disability football league

SDFL_LionsAdur East Lions Club has donated £500 to support the work carried out by the Sussex Disability Football League.

The league currently has twenty adult teams and six youth teams who meet on a monthly basis at Freedom Leisure’s Hassocks Sports Centre.

Teams are Pan-Disability and come from all across Sussex. They play the 7 v 7 version of the game and the adult divisions are split in to Premiership, Championship and Division 1 so a range of abilities are included.

The league also has a Representative Squad who have competed for the first time this season in the South East Disability 11-a-side Cup.

The Sussex Disability Football League is there for the benefit of the participants, be they players, club officials, managers, coaches, parents, carers or spectators.

League Chairman Tony Kybett said: “We are delighted to accept such a generous gift, with such support we can continue to provide football for young people and adults from all areas of the county.

“We believe that when we get together to play our league and cup matches the day is special, and those playing are extraordinary individuals who just want to be given the opportunity to play the game they love.”
