After a successful training session on Thursday, the County Representative Side were eager to get on the pitch and show the other teams that they were strong contenders in this Cup Round. With 4 teams fighting for 2 places in the final it was all to play for. Sussex were faced with 3 fixtures all lasting 25 minutes each and started their day with a convincing 2-1 win over a strong St Albans Team. With confidences high Sussex went into the 2nd fixture against Sutton United with a game plan that they executed brilliantly and secured a place in the final with a 3-0 victory. Wanting to finish on a high and with the aim of finishing top Sussex were to face a very fast Reading Side. After a good game of goal scoring opportunities, hitting goal posts and saves off the goal line Sussex lost 2-1. Reading and Sussex are now both through to the final which will be played in Hampshire.
Well done to all the players and the Coaches, Ian Hickley-Smith and Pam Chandler who put in their time and effort to ensure the team came together to achieve the wins.
