On behalf of all committee members, we would like to wish you a happy and respectful season!
This weekend we kicked off our season with the Adult and Under 18 Fixtures and it was a fantastic day of football. We welcomes new teams, East Grinstead Jubilee, Limitless FC and Cancer United to our fold along with 2x new divisions, Walking Football and 9 v 9… What a busy afternoon of football!
The new Walking Football was a great success and an area we are looking to develop over the next few season. All teams that took part seemed to enjoy the day and Referee Ian had as much fun as the players as they all worked together to make the game suit all abilities.
9 v 9 as just want some of our players were missing last season, it was a brilliant end to the day with players having the opportunity to stretch their legs out, pass the ball around and play a different style of football to what they were used too. This is going to be a bridge division that will help players improve elements of their game from 7 v 7 towards 11 v 11.
The main bulk of the league went as smoothly as normal with teams adapting to the new layout of the fixtures. Teams took part in over 34 matches in 1 afternoon and it was a pleasure for committee member to watch everyone enjoy their football.
