On the Road…

Under 12’s
Our first away fixture for the Under 12’s saw the league pitch up in Seaford at the Downs Leisure Center where the teams used the indoor facility and viewing areas to compete for the title. There was lots of end to end football with chances at both ends of each game. Goal Keepers were making incredible saves, goals from inside teams own half’s and a real show of sportsmanship for teammates and oppositions.

We were even luck enough to receive a visit from Seaford’s Local MP Maria Caulfield who watched a few games and met with coaches and managers to find out more about our league. Thank you Maria for supporting us!

Worthing Town were highlighted as one of the more skilled teams and were regularly seen linking 4 or 5 passes together before finishing with a well placed goal. Seaford town were also highlighted for their team spirit and sportsmanship. Both teams won all their games and then drew against each other 2-2, leaving both team equal on points.

As stated in the cup rules before the fixtures if a team found them selves equal on points then the result would come down to the teams respect score. Seaford were crowned winners having received 10/10 respect marks and Worthing were close behind with 9 respect points. Congratulations to both teams!

Under 16’s
Just like the Under 12’s this group of talented players were also on the road and their fixtures took place outside on the 3g pitch at the Downs Leisure Center in Seaford.  With 2 teams having to mix due to a lack of numbers and a broken down referee who was stuck in Peacehaven, it was looking like a rocky start for the Under 16’s. Super Chairman Steve turned Referee put on his Santa’s hat and declared “let the games begin” …

All teams taking part played some brilliant football on a larger pitch then normal, referees and coaches joined in to make the fixtures competitive and enjoyable for all and it came down to a thrilling penalty shoot out to declare AITC Yellow the eventual winners!
