The Spirit of Match days

This months fixtures were another display of young talent,  sportsmanship and all round enjoyable football. Watching the fixtures taking place throughout the day was extremely exciting. The goal celebrations, shaking of hands and general happiness from the juniors through to the adults are just a few shining examples of why this league is invaluable to the footballing community in Sussex.  This month also saw the Premiership Division’s fixtures come to and end with Lewes CFC  taking the title after 12 gruelling fixtures this season. Lewes haven proven to be very worthy winners and on behalf of the league I would like to congratulate all involved with the club.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough for one day, I was also able to spend time with parents and junior players which gave them the opportunity to tell me their opinions and views on the league, when asked why they love to play football the juniors all said it was because they loved scoring goals and playing with their friends. The juniors also gave a warm welcome to a new female junior player who wanted to give the league a try for the first time.

What a brilliant day to be involved with.
