South East Regional Disability Cup

After two rounds of competitive football, the County Rep team made it through to the Semi-finals. After a tense 15 minutes and two goals conceded, manager Ian Hickley-Smith moved Tom Rogers from Center Back to striker which gave the Sussex team pace upfront and a goal followed closely behind. Sussex looked like they were getting back in the game and Captain Nicole Webbley lead the team forward and after a great run down the wing, Paighton Gibson calmly slotted home the equaliser. Finishing the match as a draw it was straight to a penalty shoot-out.  Sussex were behind by a goal when keeper Fraser Standen made a fantastic save which saw the ball heading for the line, quick reactions from Frazer stopped the ball from going over and Sussex were faced with Sudden death penalties. Tensions were running high but Frazer held his nerve and made a fantastic save to put Sussex through to the final.

Playing Reading in the final was a tough opposition, Sussex defended well but struggled to get forward. It was a great team performance with all players conducting themselves positively and came away as Runners up of the Cup for the first time ever! Well done everyone.
