Sussex Football has lost one of its brightest lights as we all come to terms with the passing of Mathew Major.
Matt was a passionate supporter, activist and advocate of disability football and as chair of the SDFL drove the league towards the inclusive ideals it holds today. Matt could inspire just by being present as was seen on so many occasions at our fixtures and Sussex Rep matches. Everyone tried to play better when he was there.
We will never forget that he was a volunteer who gave his heart and soul to everyone and everything connected with football in Sussex. We are grateful for knowing him, for working with him and to be able to call him our friend.
