Girls Football Week – Chloe’s Story!

This week is The FA #GirlsFootballWeek and as a league we would like to support this initiative by writing an article about one of our fantastic female players, Chloe!

Chloe has been involved with our league during the 2016-2017 season and is also a part of the Chichester Ladies and Girls mainstream set up. Chloe has a huge love for football and we wanted to share Chloe’s story with you. More recently Chloe has also won an award from the Spirit FM, Local Hero Awards. (Click here to read the full story or watch the video below)

Chloe says “Playing Football is fun, I love playing and watching my team. I also love being a mascot for Chichester and QPR. I would encourage other girls to play because football is fun and you can make lots of friends like i have and you can get better at football”

Chloe’s biggest supporter and number one fan is Dad Rob, who will do all he can to see Chloe be involved in the game she loves so much. In Robs own words “I cant begin to explain how much confidence Chloe has gained since playing her first fixture in the Sussex Disability Football League and for her club, Chichester. It has encouraged her to continue playing football and to work towards improving her skills. Chloe’s coach has also told me how much they can see she has come on in leaps and bounds since joining the league in May”

“I absolutely love Chloe being involved in football and with the club (Chichester Ladies FC) as soon as Chloe went to training for the first time she has been welcomed,  looked after and her learning difficulties/disability do not matter as she is firmly a part of the team and club. As a Dad, seeing Chloe smile continuously and seeing the enjoyment she gets from being at training or playing matches says it all for me. Seeing Chloe involved in senior games, supporting and being mascot is amazing, She loves wearing the kit and badge and would sleep in it if she had the choice. Chloe just loves the game and is at her most relaxed in this environment”

“I would like to add a personal thank you to you Jade Harker (SDLF) for inviting Chloe to Lancing to play in the disability league and to Matt Wright and Paul Dowdell (Chichester Ladies Manager and First Team Goalkeeping Coach) for inviting Chloe to train with the first team during pre season, these occasions and memories have given Chloe so much confidence to play the game she really loves.

A message to Chloe
“Chloe, it has been fantastic to have you as part of our league and you will always be welcome here with us. Congratulations on your award, it was very well deserved!  Keep up the good work with Chichester Girls and we cant wait to see what footballing adventures you get up to in future seasons”
