Moving up the playing ladder…

This season there will be more opportunities then ever before for players to develop their skills and knowledge of the game they love!

During the 2018-19 season we are working very closely with the Sussex County FA to provide players with a clear pathway to develop their game and have the opportunity to progress within the world of “Disability Football”.The league is also working closely with Disability Talent Hub Head Coach, Chris Day (Brighton and Hove Football Club) who will be in attendance at some of the junior fixtures this season.

Players within the league will be watched over the course of the season by County Coaches Pam Chandler, Ian Hickley-Smith and Steve Atkins. The three coaches will be following the 9 v 9 Development fixtures in particular and will be inviting additional players to the second set of trials which will take place in January 2019. Jade Harker (League Secretary) added “This season we are looking to expand the work we do with the players already involved with the County Team, as well as working to develop additional players who will have the opportunity to take part in exhibition matches if they are a part of the County Development Team.

In order to progress from the Adult Football Divisions to the County Teams, players need to show technical ability along with a positive and respectful attitude on and off the pitch, Respect shown at all times is what will get players noticed .The diagram below will outline the leagues structure:

Players within the league have already taken part in the South East 11 v 11 Regional Disability Cup this season.
